Sometimes it is necessary to gather extremely thin Post Gathers. This is achieved by increasing the ratio of turns to the speed of exiting the glass surface. The slower you exit the glass surface the thinner your Post Gather will be. On top of that, if you increase the speed of the turning your post gather will be thinner again. The same technique is used for taking the final gather when making larger solid glass items. This drastically helps balance out temperature and stability and is a particularly effective remedy for general temperature imbalances when making solid glass.
