Things to note and avoid with Post Gathers
Gathering too much and going back into the furnace to soon is a common mistake that will render all your efforts ineffective. Gather the post in good time and never too late. Generally if a glass maker gathers too late for the post then they will rush to the second gather so the post melts as soon as it enters the glass, making the post a waste of time in the first place. If you decide to do a post gather, know what thickness you need and how cool it must be and do it in good time or not at all.
